Application:

• Even with a low solvent content the boiling
  temperature drops to <(+10) K in relation
  to the product at the top
• The steam/consumption for the stripping
  off the remaining solvent content is at
  a low level

Therefore:

• only one condenser stage is needed,
• however, one has to consider the steam consumed by the stripper

Application:

• The boiling temperature rises considerably
   with the reduction in the solvent content
• The steam required for the stripping of the
   remaining solvent content is of such a high
   level that it does not make sense to
   separate the stripping column

Therefore:

• 2 recompressor stages
• The vapor recompression also heats the stripping section
